Bódva-valley Bird Ringing Station, Hungary

The Bódva-valley Bird Ringing Station was established in 1986. The station is situated in the Aggtelek National Park, North Hungary. We study autumn migration of songbirds in habitats dominated by shrub and riparine forests. We mark more than 6 000 bird in every season, the two dominant species are the Robin and the Blackcap, giving together the half of the captures. The digitalization and controll of the 24 year collected data will finish next year. Beside the long-term monitoring study, we show the field work to more than 1 000 children from different type of educational institutes every year.
